When Affirmative Action Was White - Ira Katznelson

Many say that Affirmative Action gives certain groups an unfair advantage, while others argue that it brings them up to par with unfair advantages other groups already have. While affirmative action has fallen out of favor in many arenas, it is still used in others.

In this work Katznelson reveals how historically many laws actually gave whites advantages that could be considered affirmative action.
By excluding certain industries and land areas that were largely populated by blacks or other minorities, whites were given a formal advantage.

With the inclusion of a bibliography, readers will find it easy to look further into this topic should they so choose. The writing itself is engaging and I enjoyed listening to this piece.
